“In a time of economic austerity it is clear that education will play a key role in promoting recovery. We need to clarify what we mean by the quality of education we should provide for the next generation. Investing in School Leadership will be a key driver of change and a lever for change. The quality of the teacher in the classroom is paramount and building the competences and capacities of our teachers to cope with changing methodologies, lifestyle and societal expectations will be important. The curriculum schools offer, the way that curriculum is taught and assessed needs to be constantly examined to ensure it remains fit for purpose to advance the values we want to promote as a society and to shape the vision we have for our society. Parents have a key role in promoting education as a common good because  a quality education will educate the next generation to be part of society we are proud to belong to as well as an economy in which everyone has a stake because the rising tide lifts all boats
